Statement of Faith
-
Section 1. Scriptures
We believe in the scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments as being the verbally inspired word of God, and completely inerrant in the original writings, and of Supreme and final authority in faith and life
(Rom. 15:4; 1Cor. 10:11; 2Tim. 3:16; 2Pet. 1:21)
-
Section 2. Godhead
We believe in the triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit (Mat. 28: 19-20; 2Cor. 13:14). 1. We believe in God the Father, Almighty and eternal, creator of all things, both visible and invisible (Gen. 1:1-2: 7; 1Cor. 8:6; 2Cor. 6:18; 1Tim. 1:17). 2. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man, suffered and died for our sins on the cross, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, appeared to men, ascended into heaven, who now sits on the right hand side of the Father and intercedes for us, and who is coming again with great power and glory to judge on the Living and the Dead. (Mat 1:23; 16:16; 24:30; John 5:20; Acts 1:9-11; 1Cor. 15:3-7). 3. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, who inspired the prophets of the Old and New Testaments, and the apostles, who indwells, empowers and distributes spiritual gifts to be exercised by the believers for spiritual edification of the church; and who convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment.
(John 14:26; 16:8; Acts 1:8; 1Cor. 12:4-11; Eph. 4:11-12; 2Pet. 1:21).
-
Section 3. Regeneration
We believe that man was created without sin, that by voluntary transgression fell, and therefore all human beings are born with sinful nature; and that all who repent of their sins and personally accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
(Gen 1:26-31; 3:1-24; John 1:12-13; 3:1-16; Rom. 5:12-19; 6:23-24; 10:9-10).
-
Section 4. Water Baptism
We believe that the ordinance of water baptism should be observed by all who have truly repented and in their hearts they have truly believe in Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
(Mat. 28:19-20; Mk. 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Rm. 6:1-4).
-
Section 5. The Lord’s Supper
We believe that the Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements-bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ; a memorial of His suffering and death; and a prophecy of His coming; and is enjoined on all believers until He comes.
(1Cor. 11:23-26; 2Pet. 1:4).
-
Section 6. Holiness
We believe that Christians are called to obey God’s word and live a holy life, bear spiritual fruit and glorify Jesus Christ.
(Lk. 8:15; Gal. 5:22-24; 2Tim. 2:19; Heb. 12:14; 1Pet. 1:15-16; 1Jn. 2:6; Jms. 1:22-25)
-
Section 7. Second Coming
We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ will come again to establish His kingdom. He will raise the dead and judge all human beings, the wicked shall be separated from God’s presence, but the righteous shall live with Him forever.
(Mt. 25:31-46; Jn. 3:16; Rev. 19:11-14; 20:1-7, 10-15).
